Well atleast I will still have a job. Don't know how I will get there as it probably will be too expensive to even take transit at those prices.

Hey if Oil is at $105/barrell won't that bankrupt Bushy and the US?? we are in big trouble. If we know the US economy will crumble(they are like 5 trillion dollars in debt) so i'm sure it's bound to happen how can we "short" the US so we can make money off them? The only way i can think of is buying euros but is there any other way?

Well I know with my job, (Software Development), there is no need for me to come to the office everyday. Give me a decent laptop and a highspeed internet connection (done and done) and I could telecommute. There is nothing done in my office that I can't do from home. I save on gas, wear and tear on vehicles, my employer doesn't have to pay for a full time office.
It's time to make the push for it I think.
EDIT: Need to add that I live in Airdrie, and work in South Calgary so biking doesn't work. Telecommuting would be the cat's ass for me.

I have a pretty long commute from SW (home) calgary to NE Calgary (work)
I enjoy the bike ride much more than the car ride. Although as I have said before, I don't think it is more healthy. I think I suck back a lot of smog on the trip.

Since I've switched primarily to the bike paths, the smog factor has pretty much been erased for me. Unfortunately, bike paths dopn't work for everyone.

Calgary became a big city with tall skyscrapers and nice new buildings, while Edmonton stayed a small hick town. hehe
Edit: oh and then Trudeau cut off our balls and we went into a deep recession, but you could buy a house for $1

Basically, crude went to under $10 by 1986 I think and never went to $100.
Hey if Oil is at $105/barrell won't that bankrupt Bushy and the US??
What is the lesson and the answer in the charts and data in the links above? Haven't we seen this before in variations?

If oil goes to $105 a barrel, Bush and his buddies will make a lot of money.

Probably, but I doubt it would crumble badly in relation to most of the rest of the developed nations. China would be fairly screwed, as their energy demands are skyrocketing. $100 a barrel would severely cripple their growth.
In fact, maybe $100 would be great for the US strategically... its already developed a fantastic financial/industrial base while China's is still fledgeling. This would be a great time to put the breaks on Chinese growth, and this would certainly be one way to do it.

I've been saying this for a while...
3 days ago I paid $2.21 (USD) per gallon for regular grade gasoline. Come summertime, I will bet you it reaches $3.00 per gallon for regular. Those of you not in the U.S. like me, which is probably 95% of this forum considering it's a Flames fansite, you can expect similar spikes percentage wise.

China's always got steel. That's a HUGE moneymaker for them right now. Steel prices are nuts.

Sure, and Texas has oil. I doubt high single commodity prices would be able to offset crippling energy prices. China is probably also using most of its steel, as opposed to exporting it, though I could be wrong.
