Default Confusing Euro territories

I just found this interesting. I always thought UK = England = Great Britian (not that I cared much, but somewhat interesting). Just came across this image and found out they're all different.

Hmm, appears I was wrong in my classification. I'm mostly going on friends from the various places in the British Isles who get downright pissy if you say they are European.

peter12 eluded to it but Britain is part of the continent of Europe but not part of Continental (landlocked) Europe.

They are even part of the European Union.

It's because they have a massive inferiority complex regarding the huge and inequitable degree of civilization and culture that exists across the Channel.

But if you trace history the romans thought that they were Barbarians.

No, no. Scandinavia is the best part of Europe. The British Isles are a step above a toilet.

I think her theory was the English, Swede, Finn, and Norwegian flags all have that cross deal. I really don't care at all about what region or social status they believe that they are in.

Well, the British Isles have a long history of having the crap kicked out of them by various Scandinavian peoples. I have no idea what the St. George Cross has in common with the rest of Scandinavia's flags, but it is probably interesting.

Yeah when I lived in England I was constantly told by Brits that the UK is not part of Europe. They view 'Europe' as the continent and the British Isles as something different.

But I think they have soap and deodorant unlike their neighbours across the channel.
