Default Pothead convicted of insanity-induced crimes

Quote:
Larocque, then 41, was a habitual, daily user of marijuana with no criminal record, who abruptly stopped smoking drugs two to three weeks prior to a "series of strange and violent events," Graham said
Quote:
Medical testimony showed that by the time Larocque broke into the two homes he was suffering a drug-induced psychosis which rendered him incapable of appreciating what he was doing.

From the article

Quote:
After fleeing the woman's Saddleridge home, Larocque entered another residence, laid down on top of a young boy and kissed him.
If I found someone in my house doing this to my kid, I would have killed the guy, insanity or not.

As someone who's smoked nearly every day for years, I can sort of sympathize. My long stretches of sobriety ended with me being totally sleepless, anxious and stressed the hell out.

I'm pretty sure I would be an grade 'A' a-hole with serious anxiety issues if sober all time.

I'm the opposite. I smoked nearly everyday for years upon years then a few years ago I was really starting to get anxiety attacks everyday. The doctor suggested I quit smoking pot or at least cut down. I quit smoking and a few days later the anxiety went away. I still smoke a bit here and there. I just cant smoke alot at one time or smoke it on a daily basis without getting some anxiety attacks.

Yeah dude, I'm pretty sure that's a great sign that you've got a problem there.

Perhaps his dealer gave him the PCP / ecstasy laced pot instead?

I don't understand why dealers do this. It lowers profit margins.

You need exercise to replace the dopamine you're lacking, at least until you've detoxed.

Perhaps the dealer made a mistake, they do tend to be quite high.

We still know so little about how the brain works in terms of chemical reactions in the brain, electrical reactions in the brain.

It wasn't that long ago that they figured that a lot of mental illness was caused my minor imbalances in a system that has millions of reactions per minute.

when you take any kind of drugs that target reactions, or drink any type of liquor there are long term damaging effects.

Your brain adapts to its usage, so when you stop using your brain has to react and basically rewire itself.

So to me there's a real possibility of some pretty screwed up reactions to withdrawl, and anxiety.

They don't, good bud is easily found. At one time,(80s) very rarely someone would "lace" some really, really low grade pot with Angle dust, (pcp) and sell it in joint form. In a baggy the pot would obviously look like the crappy pot it was, and no one would buy it as good weed.

Not true Cap'n. Acoording to every single habitual user I have ever talked to, there is no possible way in any way shape or form that Marijuana can possibly ever have any posisble adverse effect of any kind on your brain or physical being ever in the history of ever. So your arguiment is invalid.

I hate how they're messing with pot. It used to be just a nice balanced high, but now it's engineered for maximum THC content (upwards to 25%). Research shows that cannibidiol (CBD) helps offset the negative impact of THC, however now in
most strains its very unbalanced. I believe the maximizing of THC has gone overboard, growers just think that more THC means it's better. The whole pcp/meth cutting is too bad too, stay away from that !

Anyone who has ever put this much thought into pot probably has a problem...
