Default Taking lawsuits to a whole new level

We thought that the McDonalds fiasco last week was amazing...here's a new one that beats the hell out of that.

A girl can be sued over accusations she ran over an elderly woman with her training bicycle when she was 4 years old, a New York Supreme Court justice has ruled.

The decision also will allow for the lawsuit to proceed against the Kohn family for the incident.

So some judge just gave some greedy family the right to bankrupt another family over a freak accident? Bravo, American civil law, bravo.

Well she did murder the old women. I'd like to see a charge of dangerous driving causing death. Let her out of the clink in say 15-20 years.

Not really, all that happened was an additional party was added to the pleadings. The more parties the better for the plaintiff, but it doesn't change a thing in regards to the outcome and doesn't say a damn thing about whether or not it was a freak accident or if anyone is to be held accountable.

I really hate to say this but after reading it...I agree, the family of the elderly woman should be able to sue.

I am guessing that the malpractice suit that was filed resulted was lost so now they are suing the parents of the girl. It will be hard to prove that a 4 year old running into an old woman caused her death though. How much of a factor will be determined at trial.

That's the way to do this, tie up the anti-christ in civil litigation until he gives up his dreams of 1000 years of eternal darkness.

This is why running over old people with vehicle is the preferred method. You can leave the scene much faster.
