Default Week 18: Hamilton at CALGARY

2nd last game of the regular season. Calgary already clinched 1st place in the West and will have a bye in the first round. Hamilton is in 2nd place and ahead of Toronto. They are still fighting Toronto for the home advantage in the playoff.

For the Stamps, it is mostly individual stats that they are trying to take care of. With Receiver Nik Lewis already surpassed over 1,000 yards, the other 2 receivers Romby Bryant just needs 23 yards and Ken-Yon Rambo 32 yards to get to 1,000 yards receiving. The Stamps are trying to have 3 x 1,000 yarders receivers and 3 x 500 yarders rushers (Reynolds 1,111 yards, Cornish 571 and Burris is getting close with 470 yards). According to the Herald no team in the CFL ever accomplish that feat.

I am a little disappointed with what I read at the Herald yesterday regarding Deon Murphy's interview. I am not sure if Murphy really said or the reporter just kind of add some stuff. Murphy mentioned that every return he makes, he try to go towrads the sidelines more than going in the middle of the field to gain some yards. His reasoning was he has to take care of his body meaning 'I don't want to get crunched out there returning the punt or kickoff'. For a rookie to say this is kind of disturbing. Now I know why our Special Team is the weakest link in this team. I bet the special team cover team feels the same way too. In tonight's game, Deon Murphy will sit out and Landan Talley will replace him on the roster. I wouldn't be surprise if we start seeing Lumsden returning punts and kickoffs as well sooner than we think.

I am sure Hufnagel will start resting some of the starters in the last two games. We might just see Burris play less in this game then play probably half a game in the last game.

Game at McMahon Stadium and it starts at 8pm.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

I'd like to see Burris play a good amount still. The whole hot and cold swings the team has would be nice to get ironed out before the west final, and you have to think playing the systems some more would help.

I'm hoping for another entertaining game tonight!

Go STAMPS Go!!!!!
I think its a must win with these last couple games. You go into a bye week which isnt always as great as it is made out to be and come right out with your lives on the line. Going into bye week needs to be a positive for the team!

Toronto is winning against the Als right now. If TO wins, it will make it interesting game for the Stamps as the TigerCats will definitely play really hard on this game. Actually I like that so the Stamps does not slack ooff before the playoff starts.

Good drive at the start of the game. Too bad they came up short. Anyways, field goal 3-0 Stamps.

Holy, Anderson's got some wheels on him, that was just him out running everyone else for the interception TD.

I am very interested in seeing how this Talley guy will do returning. The first one return he didn't have a chance. We'll see what he can do next.

That's just ugly, you shouldn't be allowing plays like that, c'mon Stamps.

Romby Bryant TD!!! Here goes the 1,000 yards also.

Calgary 27-10 with 1:51 left in the first half. Romby Bryant just burned the Hamilton defense.

1st half is over and the score 34-10 for Calgary.

Stampeders offense started well with a field goal by Rob Maver after Burris moved the ball close to the end zone. Then the Stamps defense took over and scored a TD on interception by Dwight Anderson. Hamilton blocked the punt and ended up scoring a TD. It was actually the defense penalty that gave Hamilton a chance for a TD. They seemed to stop Kevin Glenn but the penalty gave Hamilton a chance close to the end zone.

I think Burris is playing really well right now. He is in the zone!! So far Calgary accomplished 1 of their goal. That is for Romby Bryant to get over a thousand yards this season. He actually did it in the nice touch by scoring a TD. Bryant is now leading the league in TD. I am not sure if Ken-Yon Rambo reached a 1000 yards receiving yet. I thought I heard Chris Cuthbert mentioned it but I am not positively sure if he did or not.

With the score 34-10, I expect to see Drew Tate as the QB in the 2nd half. We might see the Stamps changing their plays to have Reynolds and Cornish run more in the 2nd half. The defense are playing well but they have to tighten up a bit. I see that rookie Allen guy was playing safety in place of Wes Lysack. I expect to see him more in the second half as well.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

I think you keep Burris in actually, he is playing very well tonight against the best defence points wise in the CFL. Let him continue to build that momentum, and light Hamilton up. He is chasing 5000 yards and 40 touchdowns.

With 41 points on the board, now is the time to take Burris out and see what Drew Tate can do.

Burris to Bryant...... TD!!! Stamps 41-10 after the convert.

Just found out Rambo is now 1,030 yards in receiving for the season and Bryant is still 2nd in TD in the CFL. Wes Cates is just ahead by 1 TD.

Are we going to see Drew Tate now or Huf wants Burris to get the 5,000 yards passing in this game?
