After getting into a scuffle with a team-mate during a practice last night, Vincent Lecavalier has been traded. The interim captain of the Sharks, Lecavalier had only recently arrived in San Jose, and by all accounts, he never really fit in with the team.
"He was a bit of a prima donna," said alternate captain Dustin Brown. "I mean, I played with the guy in Columbus too, and I didn't like him much there either. Sometimes I'm not sure whether he knows if he's a model, or a hockey player."
Vincent Lecavalier spent his entire off-season working on his new look, tentatively called "Blue Steel."
When asked what sparked the commotion, nobody on the team would comment, except the team's Elder Statesman, 39 year-old Slava Kozlov. "He wasn't giving his all in practice, and when one of the guys called him on it, he just snapped. I won't say who gave him the shiners, but me and some other guys broke it up pretty quickly, since Cindy... errr Vinny isn't very capable of defending himself."
The Sharks have packaged their 2012 1st round pick and 2 million in cap along with Lecavalier in exchange for...
Real Man, Jeff Carter.
Jeff Carter and a 2011 3rd round pick are coming back to the Sharks from the Carolina Hurricanes.
"The Sharks got the man they wanted, period." said Sharks GM therizzle. "It cost us a little piece of our future, since we traded away the only 1st round pick we have over the next two drafts. But in return, we got an excellent young CPHL player that should be an elite player for years to come."
