I've been listening to that stuff again, partly because some of the new stuff is very catchy. I'm also listening to some older stuff like Kiss - Because I'm a girl, Ayumi Hamasaki and other Boa oldies. Anyway, just wondering how many members of CP listen to it.
EDIT: My former girlfriend (who is half japanese half white) got me into it. I didn't really like it at first, but it just kinda grew on me. Plus a lot of the JPop and KPop girls are cute!

I used to be into a few. Number Girl was pretty good. Reminded me of a Japanese version of the Pixies.
Some of those girl bands are pretty cute too, like OOIOO and Mummy the Peepshow.
Actually, I am a pretty big fan of Yoshimi P-we (OOIOO, the Boredoms).

I listen to Jpop everyday whether I want to or not but I live here in Japan, so it's kinda cheating in a way. IT's not really my thing, but Thee Michelle Gun Elephant were one of the best bands to come out of Japan that very few outside of Japan have heard of. The Polysics are also good, if you're looking to listen to something.
Ayumi Hamasaki was on TV last night - people who shared her name asked her questions (including guys, as the character for Ayumi - step - can be read as Ayumu, a boys name) and she was typically vacuous. But that's really not the point...

Utada Hikaru did a song for the soundtrack for a PS2 game and it was awesome, I wanted to hear more of that kind of stuff.
I'll have to track down some music by the other names listed in this thread and hear what they're like!

Yeah, Utada Hikaru is pretty big in Japan too. I think I first heard of her from the Inuyasha series.

Actually, you'd be surprised. A lot of these Kpop and Jpop stars are from North America (born and raised, or just raised). So some of them actually put out English albums in Korea or Japan.

I bet they have really bad teeth though. You'd think for a chick with an awesome bod and millions of dollars in record sales they would want to have good teeth. ehhehe.
I'm watching this Korean tv show right now called Dae Jang Geum and it's great! 70 episodes though. i'm so tired everyday. hehe
