Default Pierre LeBrun

Hello all. I regularly visit espn.com for my general sports info. I do however feel that their hockey coverage is pretty awful. I just read that they have a new columnist name Pierre LeBrun.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=22612

Is this guy someone you Canadians are familiar with? Does he know is stuff? Is he someone worth reading?

LeBrun is one of the good ones. In my opinion, anyway.

Very well-respected.

Pierre is a great hockey writer - doesn't tend to show any biases and I always enjoyed watching him as an analyst for The Score, Hockey Central or on HNiC. He's got the connections and the experience - he should be a good addition to espn.com.

But while espn.com doesn't have great amounts of hockey coverage, they do have good guys doing it - Burnside, Hradek, Buccigross etc....I love seeing what they have to say during the season.

He's not in it to make a name for himself, regardless that he has made a name for himself. He's not a character, he's not a goofball. He's a straight shooting reporter. If he's heard something, he tells you. If he doesn't believe what he's heard, he tells you why. One of the better ones for sure.

I've been reading some of the stuff he has been writing on ESPN, Its pretty good. like another poster said above, ESPN doesn't do a lot of hockey coverage, but the stuff they do churn out is usually pretty decent. I make it a point to check out their hockey section during the season at least once a week.

Barnaby is awesome as a replacement for Melrose....love him when he was doing analysis work on The Spin with Kouleas & the Gang last year and also when he stopped by on Hockey Central @ noon on SNet...love his sense of humor and insight into the game.
