My son's team is running a tournament in a couple of weeks and I need to get some ideas as to what would be a cool "Player of the game" award for the kids.

These kids are in the 13 and 14 year old bracket.

Any ideas for awards would be appreciated.

Eskimo Carvings like they used to do for the old Canada Cup series.

When I coached younger kids in Soccer I bought a ball and had the whole team and coaches sign it, it was awarded to the player of the game by the coaches at the end of each game.

You could do something similar with a mini-stick.

Great idea. Peer oriented awards like that are way better than the typical trophy because it's recognition from your team-mates. Who might turn out to be NHLers someday...
