Default Defending Champ Alouettes at STAMPEDERS

2 losses in a row and the media and the fans are in a panic. A lot of people are saying that there is a possibility that the Riders will pass the Stampeders after their head-to-head game in 3 weeks. A lot of people are sayiong with the next 3 games (Als(home)-Als(away) and Riders(away)) will be a tough situation for the Stampeders. Right now the Stamps is 9-3 and the Riders is 8-4. I am not sure I should panic though and I really think the Stamps will bounce back from the horrible game last week.

OFFENSE:

QB Henry Burris was way OFF last week. He overthrew a sure 1st down or he underthrew the other. He had an opening for run and could have picked up at least over 20 yards or more but instead he fumbled the ball and BC recovered. The TSN panel are giving the BC Lions so much credit last week's game but I have to disagree. Everyone on offense for the Stamps seems to be taking turns on making mistakes. There was a lot of frustrations on the sidelines. I thought the Stamps missed Nik Lewis a lot with his receiving/blocking/his mouth last week. His replacement Jabari Arthur didn't do the job especially the blocking part.
Just found out that OG Dan Comiskey is put on a 9-game injured list, meaning he will be gone for the duration of the regular season pretty much. Rookie Steve Myddleton, who started for the other guard position only to replaced by Tsoumpas will take Comiskey's spot as a starter.
Stampeders offense need to start fast and hopefully they play much, much better than their game against the Lions.

DEFENSE:

Mike Labinjo, Corey Mace and Robert McCune will be back in the lineup tonight. The DLine and the defensive group was not a problem last week so adding these players in the lineup will make them even better.
Tonight's game will be a lot tougher for them against the likes of QB Calvillo and Receiver Ben Cahoon. Receiver Kenny Watkins who is a big threat will miss the game due to injury.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Brutal Special Team on both sides. They can't stop Davis and Murphy and Talley can't get a good run. Lions Davis had a field day out there last week. He was one of the reason the Lions won the game with all the great field position. If it wasn't for those good field position they wouldn't get a lot of points as the Lions' offense were brutal as well. Punter Burke Dales can only do so much trying to angle his punt away from Davis. For some reason our special teams can't tackle and they can't block either. I am beginning to think that Marcus Howell is back the way Deon Murphy ruin the punt and or kickoff.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am hoping the reason for the Stamps ineffective offense and special team against the Lions was overconfident. We don't have to worry about the overconfident against the Als though.

Hopefully the offense forget about the past games and go back to basic. Avoid penalties and turnovers and also pressure Calvillo a lot.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

Time to simplify the offensive game plan, get Reynolds and Cornish more touches early (draw plays, screen passes etc.). Time of possession (i.e keeping the Als offense off the field) will be a big key to the game tonight.

Anyone need a parking pass for this game? I've got an extra one.

Calgary and Saskatchewan could be the first two teams to clinch home playoff dates this weekend.

To Clinch a Home Playoff Game:
The Stampeders and Roughriders have to win their respective games and then B.C. Lions would have lose to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

it is time for Deon Murphy to break loose. Need to take advantage of Stampeders' strength in running the ball. We have the best RB tandem in the league and we keep abandoning them. Keep mixing up plays on offense. The defense must try to pressure Calvillo a lot.

Worries me a little that Montreal has moved the ball pretty well after the first series, but it's hard to go all the way up the field on 8 yard passes. Secondary needs to be a little tighter or pass rush needs to be a step faster.

That has pretty much the best kick return that the Stamps have had in a month.

Bad choice by Burris there; had a man wide open for a seven yard gain and first down, and instead went deep with a bad throw. Need to take better advantage of a second-and-five situation.
