I'll watch that. Conan - Fallon is a better line up than Leno - Conan.

Leno is not the least bit funny.

The thing that sucks about Leno is that the guy actually IS funny, but he has to supress it and be so mainstream because of all the A list actors comin through the joint, as well as the massive "all ages" audience. This is why I'm really worried about Conan taking over Leno's spot next year, I hope they dont do the same to him.

I'd be curious to see how Conan changes with the Tonight Show. But as far as Fallon goes, I just don't see it happening. I'd like to see someone like Russell Peters.

Even in small doses he is annoying. Those Pepsi commercials were like nails on a chalkboard. I couldn't imagine him having his own show.

The only thing bad about Conan being on earlier, is I watched Letterman in that timeslot. Guess I gotta buy a PVR. At least if I'm up late enough, I'll be able to catch Ferguson, because Jimmy Fallon is a disaster.

Russell Peters would be a disaster.
One trick pony and you can't tell ethnic jokes on NBC.

Well by-and-large those late-night variety shows stink.

Conan is pretty funny, but he's on so darn late.

Letterman has his moments but his shtick is so completely exhausted that it's utterly predictable.

Leno is thoroughly and totally unfunny. And he's annoying as all hell. The worst part about him isn't his lame monologues, it's the fact that he never lets his guests speak. The constant interrupting of them to try and poke fun at them comes off as insecure. It's like if he's scared that if he relents on his persona he won't be able to be get the laughs back.

Fallon... meh... I didn't even know he was still around. Outside of an ensemble I'm not sure he'll be that funny. He'll probably just seem awkward.

If he did all his interviews as Barry Gibb it would be pretty sweet.

haha what would he do then, just rip on his guests for their certain ethnicities the whole time? Russell Peters is pure gold, but his schtick is nothing but ethnic jokes, and somehow I dont think that would fly on basic cable.

Fallon has been getting paid for the past couple years just to stay on hold for the new gig. He's incredibly unfunny in my opinion but still better than Leno.

Exactly what I'm worried about. It''l be a sweet gig for Conan for sure, but he's going to lose a lot of control over his content.

His humour isn't for up tight people, you have to have a real casual attitude to be able to watch him. I love Fallon, he is so laid back it is awesome. His humour comes so casually, a lot better than Leno.. looking forward to this line up. Might actually watch both now

Really? I haven't ever watched/listened to his 'original' material, his cds or whatnot, so maybe that humour is as you say it is, but I found that when he was doing the scripted comedy, like SNL, he was terrible. He seemed to figure the only way to get laughs was to break up in the middle of the skit. I fear that is what his late night show would be like, him making a joke then laughing at it for awhile to elicit some kind of crowd response.

I would probably watch his show to see what it turned out like, but I figure it would end with me turning the channel, unable to bear the horribly uncomfortable scene.

I'm willing to bet that any Jimmy Fallon fan also thinks that Dane Cook is just hilarious.

Not to say "yes" to Fallon being in there, but can he be any worse than Carson Daly? that's on now after Conan, and good lord Daly is not funny even in the trainwreck sense. There is one guy down here kind of funny, can't remember his name, he has a short show on after Mad Tv down here. Squirelly looking little fella, glasses etc. I'd watch that.
