Default Rick Sanchez fired by CNN - Calls Jon Stewart a bigot

Sanchez is punted after some very controversial comments on the radio. I truly think he mispoke and then decided to keep going with the thought rather than pull back when he had the chance. I'm not much of a Sanchez fan. I think he has always come across as smug and condescending.

I was listening to that live as I never miss Stand Up with Pete on XM Potus, and right when Sanchez said it I knew he was a toast.

There is more in the two minute clip (lower) as well where it gets worse.

How many careers have been ended at CNN thanks in part to Jon Stewart? Is that three now?

I think you can be pretty sure Sanchez was fired after saying his employer, CNN, is run by Jewish bigots . . . . . . obviously a firing offence in anyone's business.

Calling Stewart one probably wasn't serious.

And saying the entire industry is run by Jewish bigot's is probably a career ender.

Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, and now Rick Sanchez. Can't think of any others. And Dobbs I'm not certain about, I don't remember why he left, but I do remember Jon Stewart skewering him a few times. Oh, wait - it was the "someone shot at my house!" incident, wasn't it? Yeah, I'd say the Daily Show had a part in that.

The sad thing is that in response to all the negative attention from the Daily and others, CNN has just become so watered down as to be completely insipid.

We'll still get endless comedy mileage out of the Sanchez taser clip.

Thank god. He's the worst part of CNN with his social media obsession.

He's so ######edly awfull, and I remember him bringing the catholic league moron who he was going out of his way to be nice to and reason with.

I'm betting he's one of the many hispanic catholic's who didn't know the body/blood of christ is actually the body/blood of christ.

Morons.

While he was awful on CNN, all I really got out of that clip is he called Jon Stewart a bigot and then recanted...

I always thought Sanchez was an obnoxious blowhard. Watching his "interviews" was frustrating as hell...he would always cut off his interviewees and turn them into long-winded monologues.

Lou Dobbs was fired because they didn't like him talking about the North American Union, the SPP Partnership and the New World Order.

Well Lou said he quit but he probably needed to move on.

He was a little too obsessed with one topic to stay on CNN anyways.

The biggest thing I took from that clip is that Sanchez doesn't really know what the definition of bigot is.

Of course repeatedly, publicly using an inflammatory word when you don't really know what it means is reason enough to fire a journalist.

LOL!!

Dobbs resigned. But yes i know there is a conspiracy theory attached to EVERYTHING in your myopic view of the world. Had he been fired the CNN brass would not of let him on air that night.

Okay ...Lou Dobbs "resigned".....you know sometimes a company will allow you to "resign" so as not to cause any public embarrassment. It happens in sports all the time. It is clear that Lou had too big a mouth for CNN and they didn't like the topics he was discussing toward the end of his tenure.

I kept thinking that if he had said that Jon Stewart was arrogant and didn't like people different than him in a political way, he would have been exactly right and there would have been no controversy. But that single word choice took him down the wrong path and it became about race instead of politics. Jon Stewart's self-righteousness is starting to get unbearable and it's not helping the discussion or the political climate. (And this is coming from someone probably much further left than he is).

I have never known Stewart to be self-righteous. If anything, his self-deprecation makes him the opposite. I can't see how one can claim someone is arrogant if said person is constantly saying "I don't know" and "I'm not sure I understand" and "I wish I knew more about...".
