Default Dealing with Cats

My next door neighbors are having (many) difficulties with their neighbors on the other side, including all of their cats. They have probably half a dozen (or more) cats they just let roam free outside.

As with most outdoor cats, they cause a nuisance using flower beds and vegetable gardens as litterboxes, spraying, etc. To compound the problem, our neighbors are terrified of cats.

They have talked to their neighbors about this issue many times with absolutely no compromise coming from the other side. They continue to let their cats roam free.

Animal services has been called, but won't come out and do anything as they have multiple cat licenses listed for the house.

What can be done about this nasty little cat problem? To make matters worse, this fued is now spilling over into other areas including the cat owners blocking our neighbors in by parking behind their car and not moving (cul-de-sac) and other things. This is about to turn into an all out war.

Not much help from me but with the story you have, the title could have been much more interesting.

Do the cats give a fair exchange rate?

Mix bloodmeal with your top soil.

Liscenced or not I thought it was against a bylaw to allow your pets to roam free.

Time for a humane trap(s) from the SPCA...

After a few trips to pick up their felines maybe their attitude will change.

There is also something called "Critter Ridder" you can get that is supposed to ward them off as well.

Herd them back to the offending property. How hard can it be? Seriously though, trap and take them to the humane society.

Drain some coolant out of the car into a dish and 'forget' to dispose of it.

Throw empty liquor bottles at them. Jagermeister bottles are good, but wine bottles are more plentiful.
Firecrackers.
Snowballs
rocks
water cannons
legtraps
poop in their flowebeds.
Get really big noisy dogs.
have big noisy parties

Cats are not allowed to roam free in Calgary, not sure why by-law is not helping them out?

Cats hate water so a good douse with a water hose should do the trick...

Maybe they should test out their new pellet gun in their backyard.

I believe bloodmeal is not a good deterrent for cats (as they are carnivores - hence, they may think all that blood is rather yummy) but is more often used to deter rabbits and deer. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Just lie!

Tell the neighbour that you've had a skunk sniffing around your yard, and that you'll be trying to trap it, and that for the cat's own safetly it'd be best to keep them inside untill the skunk situation is resolved. Then on a weekly basis, make sure you offhandedly mention how persistent and clerver thos skunks are....but you're feeling lucky this week, and you're sure it'll all be over soon.

Try these...apparently some odours (like citrus, hot lead ;-), etc ) drive cats away

Better yet, toss them into a fast moving river, just don't film it and put it on youtube.
