I was like "yep, your good to go on the bus" and then after me and my buddy were laughing like crazy..I dont know how she thought i was a bus driver but it was pretty funny.

In some parts of the world, you prepay your bus fare before you get to the stop, much like the LRT here. It's done to speed up the embarking process. I'm guessing she's used to that.
Either that or you just have a bus driver look to you. I suggest you call your guidance councillor.

I love it when things like that happen. Reminds me of the time I was in Canadian Tire and just happened to wearing a red shirt. Some old lady started demanding help from me - so I helped her. Finally, I told her I didn't work there and she was pretty embarassed.

That's pretty funny, I really get a kick out of stupid people who mistake you for someone else, for whatever reason. It's too good to pass up, you just gotta play along.

When I worked at Crappy Tire Dalhousie in that situation I just faked I didn't know english.... Never ever wear black pants and a blue shirt in that store unless you're an employee!
Lately I seem to get mistaken for being an employee at stores I don't work at.. If it's a price question. I just tell whom ever asks me "Sigh....tell you what, that's overstock anyways.... just take it. It's yours. Free. Have a nice day" in the most sincere voice possible.
I felt bad the other day though. A woman at Costco asks me - "Excuse me, can you tell me..." I cut her off right there with a I don't work there. She stares at me blankly and says: "Yes, I realize that, but I was hoping you could tell me where the WalMart is?". I blurt out a sorry and try to give her the best instructions possible.

When I worked at crappy tire I saw a girl coming into work. A lady stopped her, unzipped her jacket saw that she was wearing the red CT shirt and said, "Can you help me?"... hellooooo, she's not quite working yet! I got a good laugh out of it.
I haven't worked at crappy tire for a few years now, but I was in the store last week and some guy asked me where to find something. I told him I don't know, I don't work here. He told me I do too, I help him out all the time, and I helped him out last weekend. I said that I don't work here and I can't help him and walked away, he was mad and was going to tell my manager... I hope that there isn't any 6'3" 240 lb. bald guys working there anymore.

When I'm in clothing stores, sometimes, I refold the clothes (or try to) that I've take off the shelves or tables or whatever because I don't like to leave a mess and people think I work there.

When wearing bright red, Arsenal jersey at Superstore (there uniforms at the time were dark gray and probably still are), I got asked for help. No idea how they confused the two. I tried my best, but obviously I wasn't too helpful.

While wearing a blue Colombia vest, I was asked twice in the same Wal-mart for help. The first time I told the person I didn't work there. Second time (Probably 5 minutes later) I was asked again, this time I had thought I am going to have some fun with this... She asked where is such and such (Garbabe cans, I think), I told her it was not being carried by Wal-Mart anymore and that she should go to Superstore.

Now that you mention it I think it's the vests. This usually happens when I'm wearing my black fleece vest, which has Volvo/Cannondale embroidery that could like like a Wal-Mart tag at distance...
Why people can't look for name tags is beyond me.

while I working at Radio Shack at a mall back home, I'd often go to Sobey's to get lunch, as it was the cheapest thing in the mall.
Just so I don't confuse people, I wear a dress shirt and tie
Sobey's employees wear green shirts, with green aprins or something, they're ALL green, me I never wear green.
Lady: Where do I find (insert random food item here I don't remember)
Me: *thinks for a second* to be honest I'm not really sure
Lady: WELL DON'T YOU WORK HERE?!?!?!?!?!?
Me: Actually, no I don't. If I knew I'd tell you but I have no idea, sorry.
Lady: Oh My God!! I'm sooo sorry
Me: yeah *walks away*
Frankly I don't care if you ask me where stuff is, or if I'm an employee, as I'll help you even if I dont' work there (if I can) but don't give me attitude when I can't.

Personally, this story would be far more interesting after a bit of a minor revision.
