Default Looking for a good book.

I've decided to start working out my mind by reading but I am having trouble finding a good book to get into, so I'm looking to the CP masses once again to lead me in the right direction. Got any good recommendations? What are your personal favorite books of all time?

If you are into fantasy I would recommend Imajica by Clive Barker, Lyonnesse by Jack Vance or Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert A. Heinlein.

I love Paradise Lost by John Milton, although I would only recommend that book if you are not opposed to poetry. It's an amazing read.

If you have some time read Under the Dome by Stephen King, it's good stuff.

Speaking of hitchhiking, Jack Kerouac's On the Road is fantastic.

Inspired me to hitchhike back in December.

Fear Strikes Out: The Jim Piersall Story

"Jim Piersall, 22 year old outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, had a mental breakdown in 1952-one so complete that seven months virtually have vanished from his memory. . . . This account of his experiences is a frank and fascinating one."-Chicago Sunday Tribune (Chicago Sunday Tribune )

Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics

Both great reads, non-fiction.

Nah. This one is about the Masons in America and all the prominent American historical figures who were Masons.... and their influence on a lot of architecture in Washington DC. and of course the picture on the back of the $1 bill.... Pyramid and all that.... and all this revolves around a treasure hunt...

Just so you know, you don't have to pay for 1984 anymore. It's copyright or whatever has expired now.

Yeah ... but this one is slightly different. The treasure is lost knowledge. Things we knew centuries ago but have lost the knowledge of. ... and the key to that knowledge is hidden in Washington DC and was hidden by the Masons who have protected the secret for centuries because mankind isn't ready for the power that the knowledge will bestow.

I discovered a piece of lost knowledge like this last weekend. Never fry bacon without wearing a shirt.

I recommend reading "A confederacy of dunces". This is a quality read.
