If you could name one ridiculous thing.....
Hey CP'ers,
I'm working on a special project (hopefully a fun one)....Need the input of great minds here.
If you could name one ridiculous (or insane, stupid, etc) thing that Calgary City Council has done (or might do in the future); what would it be?

Agree!
If I only get to pick one though, its spending another bunch of our money this year hiring branding consultants. What a waste.

Cave to pressure from developers to water-down Plan It so much that it's barely an improvement over the status-quo. Hurray for unchecked, unsustainable, fiscally-irresponsible urban sprawl!

Remove all manhole covers from around the city for the sole purpose of having the action appear in First Lady's special project.

I still can't believe they didn't bury the West LRT.

Delay the SE LRT expansion at all once the West Leg is done.

there is a Calgary by-law that limits the height of buildings in the core so that they don't cast a shadow between certain hours on a given day (is it the spring solstice? or may sometime) over the bow river (prince's island park area i think).
that's the general idea, i don't know the specifics
oh, and the ctrain waiting for lights on 7 ave (ie, make it a subway)

The City devoted a lot of time and money to researching The Go Plan and The Calgary Plan; the predecessors to Plan It. For the most part, all three plans sound good, but are meaningless if council doesn't have the fortitude to implement and carry out the plans
