Default Landmark Forum/Education

Does anyone on CP have any words of wisdom about the Pros/Cons of the landmark forum? Have a friend who keeps talking about it, but want to get some opinions on what their direct/indirect experience with this has been...

Thanks.

IMO the concepts they teach are very good but I personally don't agree with the way they go about it. It's a mentally exhausting day and it wears on a person until they finally give in and let out info they wouldn't normally share.

Basically I agree with the concept, not the execution. People can get caught into it and end up spending ALOT of money.

I've actually never heard of "Landmark Education" before, so I took a quick look.

While I'd be interested to see actual participant feedback, my initial impression is that it's a touchy-feely psuedo-scam.

They tout membership in a few professional associations, although none of them seem particularly impressive (and they actually seem to be for-profit groups as well).

And last but not least, the words 'Cult' and 'Scam' are very frequently associated with a Landmark Education Google search. That just doesn't happen with Dale Carnegie or SAIT.

Again, I'd be interested in actual participant feedback, but my initial thought would be to completely avoid this stuff.

Clinically, the correct term for Landmark Forum is “large group awareness training”.

Clinically, you could call much of cultism “large group awareness training”.

The two are not the same, but they are definitely watching the same hockey game, if you know what I mean.
