Ah,

So you to know the sting of male pattern baldness, I’m 23 years old and have been losing my hair for the last couple of years. Right now my hairline has receded a fair ways back and it won’t be long until she’s all gone. I read a pretty great article last week on a blog I frequent, about balding, hair loss, etc. take a look.

Do anything but a comb-over.

You too? Ah it's been a long while since our young and hairy days of wrapping trees together, my friend.

I've got male-pattern baldness in my family for generations. My grandfather, most of my cousins and uncles went bald at 17. 17!!! My dad is a bit of a hold-out, so maybe I've got something going for me, but I've basically lost everything in the front and have got a rapidly expanding bald spot on the back of my head.

Just shave it. Women don't mind it.

Happened to me a couple years ago, It's no big deal. If it's not too bad, then just buzz it, if not, then just shave it all off.

Doesn't make any difference.

Buzz it off is my suggestion. In the world of heads, a receding hairline or a baldspot will never beat out a shaven head in my opinion.

I'm in my 50s and still have lots of hair, although it is going. I'd like to consider one of those places where they treat you (not sure how it's done) and you're supposed to keep what you have and grow a bit more. Anyone have experiences with those?

my brother-in-law was really starting to thin out a couple years back... and he was early 30's.

a buddy of his is a doctor and heard of a side effect from a prostate cancer drug - hair growth! so my brother-in-law got a prescription for this drug.... but in a very reduced dose (he has some sort of pill splitter that chops the pill into 4 and just takes 1/4 of a pill a day).

he's been taking this stuff for a few years now and it worked - he's got a nice thick full head of hair again! he'll have to keep taking this drug, otherwise he'll start to thin again, but he doesn't care... and i bet his chances of prostate cancer are pretty low too!

The hair loss might stop if you'd stop trying to learn books through osmosis!

Was it finasteride?
If so, that's the generic name for Propecia...

That is probably Proscar which is 5mg of finasteride. The propecia pill is a single pill with 1mg of finasteride. So if he is cutting into fours, he is technically gett 1.25mg of finasteride.

I am 29 and have started to recede on the corners. My dad is bald, but other family members are not.

I will definitely be going for the Rogain option if the receding starts to get much worse. Apparently a lot of men just develop the widows peak and then stop losing hair, I'm hoping I'm one of those.

I just place a book on my head and rub in a counter-clock motion.

I'm 30 and this is what has happened to me. Just a little receding of the widows peak but now that has stopped. Hopefully that's all I'll lose.

But is it just hair growth on his head, or everywhere?

Edit: Made a link so that it doesn't scare small children.

As suggested before, shave your head!
