Default Beard Trimmer

Recently my wife convinced my to try a goatee, and I don't totally hate it but my current shaving equipment make it murderously hard to maintain it properly.

I am looking for something i can use to both keep it at a reasonable length and shape it properly. Preferably cordless, either rechargeable or battery operated.

There are a ton on this website but I don't know what I should be looking for.

Any good or bad experiences, or things I should be considering?

Only advice that I have is that this is one of those items where spending a little more could really be worthwhile. I've had many over the years, always one of the conventional department-store brands, including my current trimmer. None chew through the thick facial hair effortlessly. Then I go to the barbershop, and his cuts through it all like a hot knife through warm butter. Maybe even ask your barber for some advice on this one... the professional would know.
