New rule for next year's draft:

Following the NHL draft any player taken in the NHL draft NOT taken in the CPHL draft becomes a free agent. Any team can make an offer at a set day which will be announced by the league. Best offer wins.


The practice of signing un-signed prospects is one of the real features of the CPHL. But there is a difference between uncovering some guy through research and just waiting for the NHL draft to quickly rattle off an email (which isn't meant to criticize those that have done that...including myself....but it's just a silly way to award valuable assets).

So this takes effect next year.

I like this, i also had the thought of having a "sixth round" on the message board that could go on during the summer starting after the draft and keep people interested and take up an ECHl spot.

I guess there is no chance any of the team player limits will be changed? I remember there was alot of talk about it last season. Regards

No I think at this point we'll stick with the roster numbers as is. There's not really a compelling enough reason to change it.
