Question Energy Audit

Any wise people out there who have done this? Who should I call for an energy audit? My hot water tank is 13 years old (just moved in a few months ago) and the windows, doors, toilets etc are all original so 15 years old.

Wondering if I should do this - is there a cost? What if I don't do some things they suggest - I just don't get those rebates?

Also, I have in floor heating, anyone have any experience/recommendations on which tanks are best, ways to make them more efficient or if I should go with tankless?

Might consider windows too if they suggest them, as there aren't many.

PS - anyone tried one of those additions where the runoff from the shower runs over the cold water intake and therefore makes you need to use less hot water or something? Any tricks like this would be great.

I want my energy bill to go down.

I can't see saving any money updating a 15yr. old house. Your house is already energy efficient.

Set your thermostat between 16-18 in winter and wear warm clothes. You'll save a bundle right there.

Ya, looks like they are cancelled.

I did the first audit, they give you a list of things you can fix. It didn't amount to much. I had to do all my windows and it worked out to break even against the cost of the audit.

For a house like yours I doubt you would have saved any money anyway. My house was 1982, and the auditor said most of my stuff was fine.
