 Skin grafting on to a couch!?!?!?!? 4'10 and 480 lbs!!!!!! How many years was she on that couch?!?! The picture in my mind's eye is waaaayyyy too disturbing......kind of like the scene in the movie "Seven" where they discover the obese guy who was forced to eat himself to death but worse.

Wouldn't infection be an issue sooner? Dear god that's a sick scenario. Where's those League of Humility now?
That is so sick there's no way I'd "click on image to make larger".

Just a little FYI: In the middle ages, monks used to wear woolen sweaters and never take them off or bathe. Eventually it would graft to their bodies in a similar fashion.

Great. Add 'skin grafting to fabric' to the phobia list.

I'm never sitting on a couch again.
Just to correct the title, according to the article they never actually ripped her off the couch. She died still attached to it.

Holy smokes, I don't believe I've ever heard of anything like that happening before. How Lazy do you have to be to not get up from a couch for 6 years???

Hmmm.. I thought they surgically removed her, or atleast tried to. Maybe I misread. Anyways, that's gonna give me nightmares. so she pretty much used the couch as a toilet and at the same time "grafting" on to the couch. Some pretty graphic stuff in the article. They had to use special suits and blast in fresh air!

You smelled bacon?
Otherwise, how does one 'smelt' bacon? Is it anything like smelting copper? :P

that is so creepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being attached to the couch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm suprised she couldn't get up at 400 and some pounds. It's probably being a small woman. I've seen some really heavies around 500 waddling around. They were also guys alot taller then what she was. Well there are many weird ways to go in this world and that's definately one of them.
