My computer reads as the minimum specs for Starcraft 2 except for the graphics card. I'm thinking that if I upgrade the graphics card I could potentially run the game and delay shelling out for a new PC.
These are the minimum graphics cards for SC2:
128 MB PCIe NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 6600 GT or ATI RadeonŽ 9800 PRO video card or better
These are the recommended:
512 MB NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 8800 GTX or ATI RadeonŽ HD 3870 or better
So if anybody's got something in that range kicking around I'd love to take it off your hands.
I have a Geforce 9800 gx2 with 1 gig ram that has been sitting in my drawer for a year. It has 2x dvi outputs for dual monitors or 1 hdmi output. I bought it 2 years ago for about 500 and upgraded last year and had kept it thinking I would build an HTPC but haven't and probably won't.
This is a beast of a card, it is double wide and very long, can be difficult to install into a pci-e slot unless you have a good sized case with room. It also needs a separate power connection so if you have a cheap power supply it will not work in your box. If you want it make an offer. Its in nearly new condition but does not come with the box, cables or manual.
I have an EVGA Nvidia 8600GT, 256mb. Just removed it from my PC a few weeks ago, worked perfectly. Still a great card for most games. Uses PCI-e slot. Has two DVI ports.
My old compy from 05-06 is getting trashed. I can try finding the specs on the video card for you, but I know it's a 512mb Ultra GeForce. The video card was like $800 when we got it so luckily it's one of the few parts that has held up well. I think the last game I tested on it was FIFA 09 which looked perfectly smooth at high settings.
