Anyone still eat those things? I remember when my parents would go out for dinner, they would leave a couple of these for me and my sister.

Haven't had one since I used to work at a grocery store(10 years ago) as it was the easiest thing to make. They're so gross. The closest thing I might have is a Delissio pizza, which is not great, but it's nowhere near as bad as a Swanson Salsbury Steak meal.

A guy at work eats one every day for lunch. They are one of the most disgusting things you can put in your mouth. I will not voluntarily eat one.

sounds like your parents didn't like you very much.

A guy at my work eats Hungry Man Dinners at lunch and he's as skinny as a pencil. I think those things have the daily recommended calories in one meal.

Not calories, but sodium is extremely high.

I would occasionally have one of these. The important thing is that when they are being cooked in the microwave or whatever, they're essentially re-heating the product or the water that's available, and steaming the food. Like McDonald's, it's all about the moderation.

At the very least, it's a different variety of food than cooking steak and peas and mashed potatoes, and dolloping a-1/HP/Ketchup onto it.

Jim Rome does a good take about the little dessert thing being hotter than the surface of the sun when you try and eat it.

There used to be a website where a crazy guy who had this theory about how you could eat anything you wanted as long as you kept it to 1000 calories a day. I'm sad the site is gone now because he would post up daily about his meals and his health and experiences and weight loss, etc.

To prove his theory, he went one month eating nothing but Chef Boyardee!!! The next month he ate nothing but Swanson Hungry Man Dinners!!! It was magnificent.

He lost a ton of weight but had to drink a lot of water to counteract the sodium for the Chef Boyardee portion of his diet. I believe he ate 3-4 cans of it a day. For the Hungry Man dinners, he ate one or two a day keeping it under 1000 calories.

Well, he'd be losing weight, but I dont think theres a whole ton of nutritional value in there either.

I have a buddy who eats one of McDinks, DQ, Burger King, Little Caesars, KFC for at least 2 meals each day... and he doesn't even try to make it a healthy selection like a side salad. He'll eat 2 Big Macs for lunch or something like that with no fries.

The guy is 6'1" and weighs probably 145lbs.

For some reason I still love the microwaved macaroni and cheese. Not sure if it counts as a "TV dinner" since it doesn't come with the brownie and soggy corn/green beans.

Makes perfect sense. A guy of his size how is active, should easily be able to handle that. As long as he avoids the sugared drinks and fries, he should be well within his range of total daily calorie intake.

Yeah, depends on lifestyle. If you are an athlete, do a lot of exercise, work construction or some other active job not sitting in an office all day, you could burn that all off in a healthy way and fuel your day with it.

Hungry Man Chicken Dinners are fine cuisine as far as I'm concerned.

Actually he's not all that active and drinks tons of pop and beer. You know what though? His mood swings like crazy... probably related to the highs and lows of the sugar.

Not to mention the hormone-displacing, carcinogenic chemical preservatives and God knows what else that stuff is loaded up with. . . . His mood-swings are likely related to the small female twin-fetus's growing inside of him.
