Default iPod nano click wheel stopped working. Anyone else?

I have one apple product and it stops working one year after getting it. It was a gift (iPod nano 5th generation).

I was thinking of throwing it out the window but before I do, I thought I would check with CP to see if anybody else had this problem and found some sort of solution.

Can't even take it apart since apparently there is more glue holding it together than anything else. Even tried reseting it.

In case it can't be fixed, does anyone know what I can use it for? Doorstop, bookmark, spatula?

I knew apple wasn't the solution to PC. I won't buy another one out of spite.

I would just throw it out the window like you originally planned. With any luck, someone else will find it and take it to an Apple Store and get it fixed for free.

I'm pretty sure "telling him to do that" is exactly what I did.

Are you one of those people who doesn't get sarcasm? You seem to run into this issue a lot.

I'm trying to like apple. Thanks to FanIn80 I think I will give this another try.

Sorry about the rant in the first post. Thought I had no hope of a fix.

The one advantage/disadvantage I find with apple is all their products seem compact. When it works, it works well but when it doesn't it makes it hard to fix.

I feel your pain, man. The simplicity is great, but when it doesn't work it can be pretty frustrating.

Fortunately, face-to-face tech support is just a car ride away.
