Default Disabling CP text balloon feature... or whatever it is.

At work we have to use it IE. How the heck do I turn of that feature where when you place the pointer over a link, it previews the text in a little box next to the cursor. It also is doing this in email as well.

I use firefox at home, and it doesn't do this.

edit:

If I scan over a topic / thread starter in a forum, it previews the first post in a little yellow box. Is this a problem with IE, or is this a CP thing?

That's a CP thing. It was requested in the suggestions forum.

I don't really like it either. It's kind of useless and not very attractive.

Cp is awesome on most fronts, but this is not. I don't like it.

I hate how it covers the topic below when it pops up. So instead of speeding things up, it slows things down by having to wait for the window to collapse before I can read the next topic.

It is particularily annoying when the cursor causes the stupid text balloon to blink when the arrow is over the cursor. Is there a way to make this feature disabled from the control panel? Mods?

OK Here's a solution. Move your curser to the right or left of the thread. SHABAM!!! Its GONE!!!

Bunch o whiners!! Why didnt you voice your concern in the thread in Help/Suggetions forum?

Also why not be a little more civil to the people who work hard to bring you this free forum? Not like I'm trying to kiss ass or anything but some of you guys are coming off pretty douchy to the mods here who dont owe you anything.

I actually have donated cash to this site twice and given away about a dozen sets of my Flames season tickets to various members I have never met in my life. So I think I have a right to make a request. How much have you donated to CP? How many hundreds of dollars in tickets have you given to the members of this forum virtually anonymously?

Didn't think so.

1. Ktrain is a web designer.

2. Kermit is a software developer.

3. I am a software and interface designer.

(Don't know what pylon does)

Our opinions are probably pretty relevant.

4. It cuts down on the number of pageviews which cuts down on ad views which cuts down CP's CTR which cuts down on $$$ for CP.

Geez, did you step in some parade horse crap this morning or something?

LOL... that doesnt justify the tone of your posts. Also next time you want to get in a pissing match over what you've done for this site make sure you know what the other poster has done. I'm not going to broadcast it like you are.

Oh and I can't afford to go to games more than maybe 8 times a year, let alone donate extra tickets to others. While I applaud you for doing so, thinking you are now entitled to be a dick because of it isnt exactly endearing.

Anyways, I was just saying its not that big of a deal... move your curser and its all good.

OK... great, I'm a graphics designer, web developer, and work in the field of marketing too. Cool for you!

I think if photon wants to concern himself with this stuff he will, and there is a right and wrong way to bring it up, that's all.

If my post came off as being a dick then sorry but jeeze some of the posts in here are kinda vindictive.

Cool, I need some help with my company logo, and new webstore. Really basic mickey mouse stuff that is beyond my skill level. PM me and maybe we can work something out. I can pay in 2010-2011 Flames tickets.

Some people like it, some don't. I don't think you can turn it off in the UserCP, so it's an everyone/no one kind of thing. I don't use it and almost never see it, I guess I never move my mouse there normally.

I'd say have a poll, but people that don't like it could just move their mouse a little differently.

This feature does come in handy when you get those "clever" folk who enjoy creating threads with misleading titles. Otherwise i don't really notice much of a slow-down.

Dead serious, just because we have had a disagreement in a chat forum, doesn't mean I couldn't use your help. I honestly need someone to make my logo come to life. I have it conceptualized just need it put togther in a digital format. Also I need some tips on a good shopping cart solution.

But if you code in mouse overs.... your fired.

Haha that just seemed too funny that I list what I am capable of and you ask me to put all of it to work.

I'll be honest. I can definitly make you a logo, but I don't do the web design by trade- moreso for a fun side deal, although I have contracted simpler sites out. I dont think I could make an online store though... that might be a little beyond what my capabilities are.
