Default Boxing Day 2011

Boxing day is just around the corner so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to talk about some of the deals out there. RFD is a great site to see the boxing day flyers. Right now there are only a few flyers out but I always keep my eye's peeled for some good deal on electronics.

This year I am really trying to curb my spending, but I will still be on the lookout for some good deals (online only, lining up is for chumps).

I also recommend the RFD forums for good deals.

This x1000. My boxing day shopping consist of opening the laptop for 10 minutes to see if there's anything worth pouncing on. If not I close it and go pour my umpteenth rum that day and carry on with Christmas.

In the past I've jumped on a few futureshop/best buy deals, but nothing worth lining up for.

Anyone have any experience in buying dishwashers on boxing day?

I'm looking to upgrade mine if the right deal is out there. I just bought a house so I've never really shopped for major appliances on boxing day before - is there even deals to be had or is that generally only for the "sexy" items like TVs and such?

I don't think I've ever bought anything on Boxing Day.

I bought my clothes washer on Boxing day 2 or 3 years ago. Got a $900 machine for closer to $450. The problem is the comparison shopping; I recently bought a new dishwasher and it took a while to find one with all the features I wanted. (For how much I wanted to spend.)

I can buy a laptop on specs alone, but a dishwasher I would want to see how dishes fit. For example my old one only had room for 6 dinner plates. Looking at new ones I found some of the spaces too tight; to the point where I couldn't see how water could get between the dishes to clean them.

Worth a bump, as Red Sky's link has a lot more flyers released.

There is no amount of saving that makes the hell of Boxing Day worth it. With online shopping, and deal sites now, it is really, in my opinion, all sizzle, no steak now.

Going to be in Nanaimo for boxing day.

I was there 3 years ago and it was a ghost town. One store had a bit of a lineup.

Then again: it's Nanaimo. And the selection of product blows.

Check out the Future Shop flyer. There were a few there; and with the free shipping you can order it Christmas Eve and avoid a lot of the craziness.

I should check out some online sales. Generally, avoid Boxing Day and just go catch lots of hockey at the Mac's Tourney. Fighting with hundreds of people to safe a couple bucks isn't all that useful to me.

I picked up a 2TB one last year at Memory Express for $89. It works fantastic! Check them out for sure.

^ Don't think you'll be finding them at that price this year. The run of the mill Seagate (500MB) was in the FS flyer this week for around $189, IIRC.

@Saskflames - not too sure how close to a Costco you are, but they seem to be one of the few places that haven't really jacked up their HDD prices yet. I'd definitely look there, even if it's not a boxing day deal, they're still pretty cheap (comparatively).

Need a decent pair of headphones? $300 off Monster Turbine in ear headphones.

http://boxingday.redflagdeals.com/in...age_full/1899/

I will probably pick these up and try em out...and return them if no good.

With that username I'm surprised you are not getting the ones beside the Monster ones in the flyer - Diddybeats In-Ear Headphones

22" LED TV for $128 at Walmart? That's exactly what I've been in the market for for the last couple months. Don't mind if I do!
