Default GM safety recall

So my 07 Sierra has a recall. Again it's the heated windshield washer fluid. They sent 1 or 2 other recalls on this a few years ago but I guess they still can't fix it, so they are now going to disable it for free. They are also providing a "customer satisfaction payment" of $105 for the "service." First of all the payment seems rather tiny to go out of my way for. Not only that but my heated washer system seems to work fine. Am I risking an insurance issue by not getting it fixed and having it short out down the road? Overall, seems like a lazy way of "fixing" a safety issue.

I myself would take that 100 bucks, I'm sure I could live without heated windsheild washer fluid.

I wonder if it uses the same part as other GM cars? I had that option in my old '08 Saturn Outlook, and don't remember any recalls about it.

The company that manufactured the part in question for GM no longer exists. So, rather than paying another company to re-tool in order to make a discontinued part to fix this problem, they will disable it and pay you a $100 for your trouble.....seems pretty fair to me.
I would think that there may be liability issues if you knowingly refused to apply a mandatory safety recall....Besides, next time you take it in to a GM garage, they will do the recall regardless (if its a safety recall). Why would you want to risk an underhood fire by not doing it?
