Default Hit a home run and you're out

Strangest rule, in softball, if a team hits 10 homeruns, there next home run is not a run instead its an out. Happened at a Canada/USA game recently.

Check out the video and than go tarp surfing after

BUt is it the 1 up rule??? The other team has to hit their 10 first and then you can hit another ....

Its quite a common practice in softball , at least here. I mean most those guys can go jack at will so it makes them play a little strategy...

I saw the game in its entirty... good win for Canada. By no means am I a ball player at all, but I play beer league softball, and even in a league where it really doesn't matter who wins and loses, we have an HR cap.

I like the rule as it is, 10 HR's, because some of those guys can hit the ball a long $%^&ING ways... it keeps it interesting because then the guys have to hit an in-the-park RBI to score runs. It was this rule that saved Canada in the end haha

Why don't they move the fences back if it is too easy for them to hit home runs?

This is a pretty standard rule in softball.

Why don't they become actual softball players and play while drunk/smoking/fat?

I think its impossible to move them back that far. I played in the world softball tournament in Orlando one year. We played at the complex that also host the Atlanta Braves for spring training. The "A" league played on the big league field and those guys were jacking it out of the stadium... Its pretty ridiculous but fun to watch!

Can you be here for August 15th (weekend of)? CPSW has our playoffs and I'm pretty sure you could make the team as a walk-on!!

Or just get rid of fences altogether?

Yeah, I've been out to Petes with him more often than with you...

Nicker was our replacement for rubecube.
