Default Tennis on the 360

Which tennis game is considered the best?

Keep in mind, I'm really interested in the ones based on real events and people. I'm not sure if there are any cartoon-character based ones out there, but I'd like to actually play in Wimbledon as Roddick (for example).

Having said that, I wouldn't be completely adverse to playing a cartoon version as long as the gameplay is really fun.

Edit: Here's a quick peek at some of the rankings... http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.h...etter=&search=

Also, it looks like EA might be releasing a tennis game this year called Grand Slam Tennis, although it appears it might be shelved? Hmm...

my understanding of grand slam tennis was that EA was waiting for the 360 and PS3 to release their motion stuff. is that not even the plan anymore?

Oh, it could be... I don't really know much about it. I just saw the title listed on GameSpot, and a quick glance at the articles for it gave me the impression it was on hold.

That would kind of make sense, though.

I've always loved Virtua Tennis, from the arcade to my PS3. Topspin is pretty good too, a little too realistic and therefore more challenging though. Go Virtua, the reviews agree.

Hmm using racing games as a comparison...

Would Topspin be like Forza/Gran Turismo, and Virtua be like Need for Speed?

I guess you could make that comparison, if Need for Speed was 10 times more fun than Forza/Gran Turismo regardless of how arcady it was.

I have not tried any motion versions though, I can only speak of the classics where Virtua Tennis was the mainstay of party games but it also required skill and strategy.
