Where to get eyeglass lenses done

So I just got my new prescription from my optometrist, have the frames I want picked out, and now just need to decide to where to get the lenses done. My optometrist's office told me that I should bring whatever frames I get to them as they'll do a better job.

Is there any validity to this? I'm probably thinking more into this than is necessary, but if I'm dropping $500 on a new pair of glasses I may as well get them done right.

Costo is about the best price you can find for a normal store.

Sites like clearly contacts and others sell glasses for far far less, check those sites out (just google cheap glasses) and see if they have the frames you like, they usually have the popular ones.

i have bought my contact from clearlycontacts - but for my googles i'd go to the optometrist.

i deal with In-Vison on High Street in McKenzie Towne - although I think they have recently changed thier name. they used to have a couple of locations in Calgary.
