Default Where to get a nice carpet with install?

I am renovating my basement and need to put some new carpet. I am looking at spending $1,000 for everything including installations. So far I went to Dannsburg, Home Depot, End of the Roll and that expensive place on 50th Ave SE. So far, I am leaning towards Dannsburg because they are a bit cheaper than the other 3. I am also like it when the salesperson try to explain everything to me and very friendly but i am willing to listen for other suggestions on their experience in spending money on the carpet. Also, I want to hear your experience on the installations part.

How many square feet are you working with and what is the space like? Are there a lot of corners and door openings or is it just a big square/rectangle?

Dannburg is very good at what they do. That "expensive place on 50 ave" is likely Nu-Way Floors and they are also very good at what they do. If you are looking for bang for your buck, I'd say Home Depot is a great choice for a basement install. I've used and worked with all three.

i used home depot for the upstairs of my townhouse (3 br, hallway and stairs). Decent prices on the carpet. THe instalation was done in one day. I'd use them again. I have never tried anywhere else though. There was a small flaw in the carpet. and they gave me the choice of taking a few hundred off the price, or waiting a few weeks to order a new piece. it was in a spot where nobody would notice, so i took the discount.

Does the $1000 include stairs? I'm not sure you'll be able to get the entire basement with carpet and underpad for $1000 including installation. If you do, the quality won't be there.

We used Deerfoot Carpet, and were impressed. The quality of the carpet was great, and the prices reasonable.

I used End of the Roll, did a great job.

Don't use Jordan's. They missed my appointment because the installer was drunk. SOBs didn't even bother to give me a discount for my troubles.

The best carpet out there right now is SmartStrand.
