Default I want to add benches to my existing deck...

But am useless when it comes to building things. Does anyone have any good sources for bench plans for decks that would be pretty easy to build? I've googled the interwebs and haven't really come up with anything as most of the nicer plans involve the bench replacing the railing which I don't really want to do.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We have benches built into our back deck, in a half hexagonal area.

I am not sure which building store was used, but they had the supporting braces in baked on steel of various colors. We just purchased those braces in the color that matched our deck and then built the seating portion out of cedar.

I put benches on my deck and it was really simple. Go top Home Depot or Rona and they sell the braces that red was talking about. From there you just bolt them on to your deck and screw the boards on for the seats and the back rest. Couldn't be any easier. Quite a slick system really and they look good.

Thanks for the tips everyone, I'm going to head to Rona in the morning and see if I can find those braces.
