Forum Numbering

If you look at the Fire and Ice forum, the url ends with a 6. The Off Topic forum ends with 8, Tech is 34, the present forum is 9. There is also rumors of a mysterious moderator forum in which only those with super special privileges are able to log in. Legend has it, it is in there that discussions about rumor sources and the real reason for banning Lanny are held.

I wonder if someone might elaborate on what happened to all the other numbers for forums that aren't currently used. Is there a reason FOI was given 6? Were numbers lower than 5 used for other forums that are now deprecated?

I imagine there is an mundane explanation for all of this but if you could make up a cool story, that would be nice too.

The first 3 were destroyed by sabotage shortly before going online. Forum 4 simply vanished never to heard from again. Forum 5 was our best last hope for peace. It failed.

Forum 4 was sent ahead in time becoming forum 7 and was destroyed in a quantum event know as the fata incident.
