Default Code Help

Hey guys,

I am trying to put in a mailto: link beside the text in my lightbox on my website. However I can not figure out how to do it.

Webpage in question:

Linky loo

Eg:

I'd like it to read:

Wodri Clock - The screaming eagle. Buy it Now!

The Buy it now will be a mailto: link.

I cannot seem to get this to work.

Here is the code for inside the pop up box.

<a href="images/png/clocks/white series/screaming-eagle.jpg" title="Wodri Clock - The Screaming Eagle">
<img src="images/png/clocks/white series/screaming-eagle.jpg" width="185" height="100" />
</a>

Any ideas? If i need to change something in js, then I am not interested as I fear that could lead to a complete collapse of my website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It would be in the lightbox.js file. You might have to create a new function to add the mailto if the image displayed is the screaming eagle.

This is above my skillz though.

Wouldn't it just be a regular mailto: link?

Like this:
Wodri Clock - The screaming eagle. <a href="mailto:your@email.com">Buy it Now!</a>

You can also auto-populate the subject line for them.
Wodri Clock - The screaming eagle. <a href="mailto:your@email.com?subject=Wodri Clock - The screaming eagle">Buy it Now!</a>

The code would be added in the description of the image. The ones I use allow for html to be used. Otherwise you'll have to mess with the lightbox javascript.

I assume you have checked the lightbox site and tried this:

Quote:
Yes, but you need to convert quotes and greater and less than symbols into their html entity equivalents. For example:
<a href="images/image-4.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="&lt;a href=&quot;link.html&quot;&gt;my link&lt;/a&gt;">Image</a>
Just replacing the my link with this:
Code:
mailto& #58someone& #64example.com& #63Subject& #61Hello%20again
instead of mailto:someone@example.com?Subject=Hello%20again

I have no idea if this will solve your issue, I just did a quick search and thats the best I can come up with that doesn't involve wordpress/drupal etc plugin solution.

edit: ok, it keeps converting it all for me, so delete the spaces from that code section, or build your own link using this table.
edit2: On my way home, I realized this might not be what you want, and you might need to put the link as a caption as opposed to a title. Also looking at the code in the example again, you might need semi-colons following each ascii code.
