My vehicle definitely gets babied. I put gas in it when the tank is empty, and it gets washed every time it rains.
If I drove something super nice, I would probably be a lot more anal about it.

I drive a Chevy Cobalt, I like to keep it clean outside, I could careless how dirty it was outside.
If I had a Ferrari, then things would be totally different.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as babying, but I always feel bad when I hit the brakes/accelerator harder than I really needed to.

The more you baby your vehicle (aside from driving it nicely), the greater chance of having something really bad and random happen to it

I drive the crap out of my vehicles once in a while. Its good to get them hot especially if you have a diesel engine. Theres nothing wrong with revving the engine so long as you dont bounce it off the rev limiter continously.

I baby my 350Z - I've never driven it in the rain, on snow, or even when the roads are wet. My new RAV4 will not get babied like this - I'll drive it in all kinds of weather, etc. Mechanically however, it will get babied.

A lot of people baby their spring/summer cars, and just buy beaters for the winter. The salt and rocks are so harsh on vehicles.

My talon that I restored was babied. Never drove it when it was cloudy or even rain. kept in a heated garage and dusted every other day. I spent alot of time and money on that car and it was the cleanest 1ga you could find.

As long as you are not annoying when you give friends a ride. I have one friend who is so anal she constantly is checking if I have my feet on the mat. I can't touch anything. Nor can I slam to door too hard and I am reminded every time to lock the door.

i've babied my car since it's brand new (needs to be broken in) and black. I take it to big Bucket car wash weekly and have a shammy in the trunk just in case I notice a spot or something. Also have some wipes for the interior in my glove box.
Done this for 7000km now. And I'm getting better fuel economy than ever before. Although every now and then I'm stepping on it and driving fast, no sense in getting a nice car to drive slow all the time.

i've always babied my truck... i even babied my last truck and it was a piece of crap!
i love it when it's all shiney and nice - both inside and out... i tell my wife it runs better! ha! ha!
i don't cheap out on parts either... why bother - especially since i plan on keeping my truck for a long long time.
i sent some pics of 'my baby' into a truck mag last year and they used one in their 'bragging rights' section - how funny is that... my truck made it into a mag!!!

i was going to put my flames license plate on the front but totally forgot until i returned home after taking the pics - oh well.

My face is a bum!

I will always laugh to myself at people that think they're car is too powerful/fancy to be driven on wet or snowy roads, when really almost no one owns a car where this is the case.
For people that hate driving when there is gravel on the roads, I guess I can understand that a bit, but I'll always respect the guy in Edmonton who winter drives his Gallardo or the Porsche Turbo I see in the winter in Calgary. Both are AWD and do just fine if you can find winter tires to fit.

I baby my dad's new Challenger, because I know that in the next 5 years or so he will want something else and will sell his 'old' car to me
Otherwise, with my current car, I treat it like I imagine most people treat their cars, I don't baby it, but I take care of it. I don't have any real love/attatchment to what I'm driving now.

I baby my Saab 93. Spent good money on it, so I treat it with respect. Why not maintain something that was my second largest purchase (House #1).

After living in a neighborhood where people don't even try to avoid bumping cars while parallel parking, I've let my car go to hell. I don't exactly "baby" my motorcycle either, but it does get treated a lot better than the car.
