I knew it. I mentioned in another thread that I thought Nellie's was a dive. I'm not surprised at all.

Did anybody see the Glutton for Punishment episode where Bob Blumer was going for the record number of pancakes made in one hour at the Stampede? He went to one of the Nellies on 17th locations to test different batters out and to practice speed runs.

A tearful Taylor-King said outside court she was devastated by the charges and that it was difficult for her, a single mother, to keep proper monitoring of all the locations
I wonder if she's going to claim that the health inspector has a personal vendetta against her.

Might be a good idea to hire a GM to assist with operations.

A single mother who didn't have the "time" to ensure her 5 restaurants were being properly run eh?

Serves her right!

Obviously too greedy to hire a Regional Mngr. to oversee the operation and too freakin' lazy to do it her self!!

enjoy those $4800.00 a month payments!!!!

BINGO. Do you think if Ken Lay cried and said it was too difficult to keep track of all Enron's doings that ppl would feel bad for him?

It's not her fault she's a single mother... it's hard keeping your man happy when you can't cook a decent breakfast or keep your kitchen clean.

(Actually I like Nelly's; pretty tasty ukrainian breakfast.)

A good friend of mine used to work there for many years, and was store manager @ one point.

The lady who runs the place is a class A beeyatch. She deserves what she gets.

That sucks - we go there about twice a month - there's one just a couple blocks from us. On the bright side, if we haven't died in the 5 years we've been going there, now that it has to be cleaned up we should be fine, right?

The food, service and price seemed reasonable, and I always considered it kind of a special place to go for breakfast. Obvously many others thought the same thing, because the place I went to in Marda Loop was always jam packed.

I hope she get things under control and keeps her business going strong.

From what I understand, Nellie's in Marda Loop is an independent outfit not owned by Taylor-King. It was not one of the locations cited.

Is the menu the same at the different locations? I always liked the one on 9th ave, I notice it wasn't mentioned in the article.

Hey don't worry, according to what she said in today's article, she believes "the people were safe when they ate there". After all, when you eat there, you support six single mothers.

I have always gone to the one in Marda Loop and I didn't read anything about it being considered a vermin infested puss bucket, I guess I will have to check to see if they employ any single mothers before I go there in the future.

Payback is a bitch. They painted an Oiler logo on the window of the western 17th ave location on the coil's playoff run. Karma,Bro.

All of the citations are pretty common in a lot of kitchens.

Not fixing them when you have multiple chances to do so is not so common. There are usually an abundance of chance to fix these things, and for them to not follow through is really indicative of a kitchen staff who have no respect for their owner.

These guys are suffering because of a poor, over worked single mother.
