A great player, the best I ever watched for sure. His decline as he aged was actually refreshing in the era of steroid abuse. He always kept up to those PED abusers in the home run chase during the late 90's early 2000's until about August when the wear of the season affected him and not the others.
Got to see him play at the Kingdome in '97. Sweet swing. Was going to wear my Mariners Griffey (not authentic) jersey today, but I forgot this morning. Bought it across the street from the Kingdome.
Probably because his career and seasons played out like a normal, yet very gifted, human being.
People also thought the same thing about A-Rod. Until they learned they were wrong, of course. We never really know, as much as we'd like to think and hope otherwise.

meh, I'm confident. I don't really care if other people want to lump him with the juicers.
Not really. He had a lot of injuries because he was a pretty reckless outfielder. Broken wrists from jumping into the outfield wall to make catches, etc. The guy would do pretty much anything to make a play.
I agree with girly. If he had done them, it would've come out by now. As far as I know, he's never even been implicated
During the PED era, players were coming back from injuries faster than ever and playing more games, staying healthier than ever. What makes Griffey Jr. the exception to this?

IIRC, it has been documented that steroid users suffer injuries more often than clean athletes? Muscles tear easier, from what I remember?
They also are more susceptible to injuries of the bones and tendons because these support structures aren't strong enough to anchor overdeveloped muscles.

They did?
Who knows whether Griffey was on steriods or not, but I think for some people its nice to hope/believe that there is some.
I attended my first ever MLB game a couple weeks ago in Seattle between the Mariners and Blue Jays. I was cheering for the Blue Jays and Griffey at the time ruined it with the game winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth. Now I'm glad I got to witness first hand Griffey's last glorious moment as a player in the majors.
