I did some contract work with them; there was a small security analysis and threat alert company up here, and they got bought out by Symantec. But I cannot remember what the company was called before they got bought up. I haven't worked there since a while before the changeover, but pretty good people in the office.

I worked at Autonomy for 6 months, in the Calgary office, and they had a few co-op students, so you could check them out.
Personally I hated working there, but it was probably more due to the software I was working with then the company itself.

What kind of development are you looking for? We most probably have an opening for a SQL/C# Developer for webapps coming up soon. If it is something you are interested in, I can get you the info when they decide to post it.
I guess this goes for anyone, not just the OP.

Autodesk used to have a bunch of developers in Calgary, my g/f interned there.
There's the O&G application crowd, IHS, geoLogic, those kind of companies.

Bump, currently still looking for a software engineering coop term in Calgary.
Anyone heard of any open software positions or any company that is looking to hire a coop student?
Thanks

Why are you having to look at Calgary specifically?
I know Waterloo engineering students from Calgary who cooped for various companies like RIM, Nvidia, etc. There's nothing that says you have to stay in your hometown.

I wanted to spend my summer in Calgary with my family and friends so I came back for the summer. Because it's my first coop term, I had to stay in Waterloo for 8 months already, and if I did coop, it would be another 4 months of coop and 4 months of academic term so it would be 16 months away from home.
I plan to apply at RIM and all the other big name companies in the upper years. For the first few coop terms, the big name companies like RIM, Microsoft, Google, etc. don't hire lower years, so I came back to Calgary hoping to find a junior software related jobs.
