Bomb Threat Downtown
Police are dealing with a potential bomb threat.
It's happening near 4 Avenue and 1 Street S.W.
Police say a suspicious package, which is consistent with a pipe bomb, has been thrown underneath a loading dock.
The bomb squad has just arrived.
Some roads have been closed and police are diverting traffic.

I think its the 5th Avenue Place where the issue is? I can see their loading dock from the office across from me...

They are blocking off a massive amount of traffic - if you are looking to head into or out of downtown, West would be the best option.

They've blocked off the +15s that go to 5th and 5th and bow valley square.

They are evacuating the first three floors of the building affected along with any building facing the object.

Wasn't there a bomb threat around this time last year? Also a man setting himself on fire?
Whats up with downtown around this time?

Wonder if it's some nut job's way of getting back at BP for the off shore rig situation.

BP's loading docks are on 2nd St, not 4th Ave, so it must be Fifth Ave. Place it's affecting. There's a couple cop cars in front of BP but most of the action is by the +15 between THE International Hotel and FAP.
