age 16 rule is stupid. This Chinese girl proved she could compete and win at a world level even tho she was 14... Really is that cheating? lol I would be embarrassed to take the medal if i was the Americans. got beat by a 14 year old...

umm..

They have the age rule because the younger you are in gymnastics, you can be better at it. Remember that whole controversy from the 2008 beijing olympics? (I still don't think that one was at least 16)

so being beat by a 14 year old in gymnastics isn't embarrasing, and is actually quite an advantage.

How old is over the hill in gymnastics? Would a girl who was 15 in an olympic year basically be passed the age of reasonably competing when the next olympics rolled around at 19?
