Default Heat shutout Americans, win series 4-3.

The boys got the job done with Shantz shutting the door in 2-0 win.

Game 1 vs. Hamilton is set for Thursday

Olivier Latendresse is Guilliame's older brother. Who has his rights now? Free agent? Seems to be an ECHL/AHL journeyman.

Hamilton beat out the Moose in the 1st round. There should be lots of support in Rd 2 for the Heat you would think.

Assuming Montreal loses out to Washington tomorrow, what are the chances of the Heat (Flames) vs Bulldogs (Habs) games being televised? I'd get an erection.

I heard it suggested that he's being considered by a couple teams who already have coaching vacancies. Atlanta is the one being the most obvious. Maybe it goes nowhere but hopefully he at least gets an interview.

Crazy defensive game. I was biting my nails towards the end of the game once the Amerks pulled Plante.

I still can't believe they made history by being the only team EVER in the history of the AHL to come back and win games 6 & 7 on the road.

If going this far into the playoffs doesn't build a fanbase, I don't know what will.

Great to see, hopefully this helps increase fan support in Abbotsford, and maybe if the Flames had just stuck with Playfair as the Head Coach, they would actually be better off right now

Hopefully they schedule the home games a little smarter and at least put them on Canucks off nights.

Tickets are cheap and Westjet flies right in to Abbotsford from Calgary. Maybe this is a chance for some Flames faithful to come see some playoff hockey and cheer for the players of the future. We could use the butts in the seats!

Wow, what a comeback in this series. I had meant to go see a game in the first round and thought I'd lost my chance.

This is great news. Looks like our prospect pool isn't so bad after all....

IMO, its time to add a couple of guys permanently to the NHL roster next year. Let them play and if they cant cut it...THAN make a trade or FA signing.

Backlund, Sutter, Pelech. IMO forsure.

Maybe even 1 more grinder for the bottom line. Save some cash by using prospects and allow for more money to improve the top 6.

except half the team isn't flames property.

although it is good for development for the prospects that are there.

Games 3, 4 and 5 in Abbotsford are May 4, 6 and 8.

Games 1 and 2 of the Hawks-Canucks series are going this weekend, which means that games 3 and 4 in Vancouver could well be May 4 and 6 and since you know CBC will want game 5 on Saturday, that means May 8 as well.

Idiots.

Actually, I believe we only have 2 rentals from other teams.

The rest of players are either signed by the Flames, or are ATO and PTOs. Which isn't a bad thing because now Sutter can see that players like Jon Rheault, Carter Bancks, John Lammers, and Tyler Spurgeon are worth signing to 2-way contracts.

Also, I just wanted to mention 2 things about the team:

1) Before the games start and they announce the starting lineups, Playfair gets the loudest cheer, more so than any of the players. I think his freak out gained alot of respect from the Heat faithful.

2) A few of the games I went to see, I loved the line of Sutter-Backlund-Wahl. They generate so many chances and their passing plays are amazing. It's too bad they moved Wahl all the way down to the 4th line.

If I wasn't working in Toronto right now, I'd be all up for flying out there for games 3-5. What a great time that would be. I'm back in Calgary on the 16th, so hopefully here's to them advancing even further so I can make a trip out of it!

Imagine if Nemisz was out of the playoffs... I wonder if he'd be in Abbotsford right now.
