Best Place to Get Landscaping Stuff?

Re-doing my front yard - what's the best place to order bark chips and large (decorative) boulders?

I ordered a massive amount of their "Wood Chips" last year to do all the beds in our new yard and am very impressed with the result after an entire summer and winter on them. (No fading at all)

They are made of recycled wood products, (palettes, lumber etc), and then dyed with all natural dye that lasts way longer than a cedar or other mulch.

Burnco is definitely a good start. Ordered 15 cubic yards of stone and mulch for a project and it was good.

Burnco is the most expensive place there is, but is still probably a pretty good bet if you have no way to pick it up.

If you have a truck you can borrow for an afternoon, check out Ornamental Garden Supplies (Behind Deerfoot Mall) or Blue Grass (near airport).

Would these chips work as ground cover for the yard, or would I have to stick with bark?

Ground cover in what sense?

I made large beds with shrubs, trees and perennials, covered them with landscape fabric and then used the wood chips as a cover, (about 3-4"), and it worked perfect.

In the sense that I want to replace grass, so I am putting down the fabric, and then it's a question of what to use as cover - bark or these recycled chips?

Gotcha.

I really like these chips compared to any mulch I've ever used before. They would be great used as you describe and having the colour not fade right away is a major plus in my books.

I've never been a big fan of the big bark chunks, but it's all personal preference.
