Default Ticketmaster

Does anyone know why ticketmaster doesn't offer refunds? Is there some weird secret stuff happening I don't know about?

What about other options, are there other ticket dealers out there that aren't ticketmaster?

why does ticketmaster feel like it's the only option to buy tickets to shows?

I've never had to deal with a refund, but my dealings with ticketmaster have been nothing short of great, especially in this era of customer service in Calgary.

I imagine that it could be something about how tickets are first come, first serve, and they don't want to deal with someone who finds out that a ticket was available later that was better seats. I know they release tickets later for almost every event, but I think it's different to offer refunds.

I'm interested to find out why they wouldn't offer a refund, but I can understand why they wouldn't.

They don't offer refunds because the tickets have an expiry date. If people could just refund any tickets fro shows that became unpopular or they couldn't go to, then tickemaster would lose out on lots and lots of money.

If the ticket is popular, you should be able to sell it on the secondary market. If the ticket is unpopular, why would ticketmaster want it back?

I hate ticketmaster for the following 2 reasons:

1. I got to Flames games from work. If I forget to bring my flames ticket to work, i have to pay $2.50 to access a pdf that I can print off. Sure it's my own fault for being forgetful, but taking $2.50 for a pdf is a slap in the face.

2. Only releasing crappy seats to an event, then releasing better seats 3 weeks later leaving you SOL.

My third point was going to be not letting you pick your seat, but I've seen some evidence that they will in the future.

This bugs me about the online... I hate sitting on the sides at a concert. I would rather pick from the seats at the end rather than having the website choose for me.

You can do that at tickemaster centres or over the phone. They've started allowing it for some online sales already. Playoff hockey in Vancouver allowed you to pick your own seats.

Megatunes and Sloth Records sell tickets for select shows, I always go out of my way to buy from them.

Although, I'm not entirely sure if Ticketmaster already get their cut from those tickets, anyone know?
