Default Canada's Combat Mission In Afghanistan is OVER

For better or worse Canada has handed over their combat role to the Americans. God bless our women and men in uniform!

I thought I read they will still have a small group stationed in Kabul.

But you are right in the kudos to our men and women in uniform. A hard job, a sacrifice, and it all done better than asked. They have touched lives both at home and in Afghanistan. They helped our allies and kept our place in our international community. They have done what most of us cannot or will not.

Great to hear they are coming home. No questioning the sacrifice of our men and women in this quarter. One of the toughest jobs out there, and thank you for your service.

A job well done.

A great job by the Canadian Forces and the soldiers past and present who served over there. Once again Canada proved that they had a professional Armed Forces that showed fierce determination, and outstanding diplomacy in a strange land.

With new schools and roads being built better fresh water supplies and a reduced Taliban presence in their sector, Canada is leaving their area of Afghanistan better then when they arrived.

With 157 casualties over 5 years while tragic showed how well our men and woman fought over there as those casualties could be considered to be light and could have been much worth.

This was a job well done, and we need to stand proud of our accomplishments, and I'm making it a point to shake the hand and thank all of the soldiers at Stampede this year.

My God man! Mercedes Stephenson is a sure-fire way to delegitimize any discussion, regardless of the topic.

Otherwise I echo the sentiments of the previous posters and would like to express my gratitude for the men and women in uniform and the fantastic job they have done and continue to do.
