HUGE NHL 11 Rumour: CHL

This would be fantastic if it pans out.

Especially if you can start your Be a Pro Career playing in the CHL. Get drafted from the CHL and maybe get sent down to your CHL team if you don't have a good training camp or a good start to the season.
I'd love to sign on with the Hitmen and get drafted to the Flames.

would be awesome, they would probly have to do it like the NCAA games do and have random names on the players
people always do the rosters for those though and EA sets up an easy way to Download them from in the game
would be very cool for the drafting in franchise mode as well

No way. Simply for the GM mode alone, if they get the chl players etc, we'll no longer have to draft Sergei Iginla in the 1st round. We'll get actual CHL players coming up through the ranks.
I don't believe the CHL has anything set in stone where players can't be used.

I wouldn't be shocked if this happen. For the past few years I've said I don't get next years game. And then they add BAP, or Flames move their farm team, or they add boardplay. So in terms of my wallet come September, this is huge.

I don't know what the CHL player contracts say about this type of thing, but it would be much easier than the NCAA as their isn't a full out prohibition on image use (as far as I know).
This would be a huge step in terms of the management side of the game, and would make BAP incredible. This is like rolling NCAA football and Madden into one from an off-ice/field perspective.

AI teammates in the AHL are so terrible I'm scared to see how stupid it would be playing in the juniors.

while this is a great development, i still wish they would add another league or two from the US. having the ECHL and/or CHL would really add to the marketability in the states. Additionally, with at least the concept of the ECHL, you could send guys down there in GM mode.
though i do think having the canadian leagues would be much more cool to add for now.

I don't see how the ECHL or CHL teams would help the marketing down in the US at all.

exactly.
i actually hadn't played nhl for a couple years, but bought it specifically because the QC flames were in it in 08.
obviously it won't double the sales or anything absurd like that, but having those leagues would help sell the game in places like wichita kansas (chl) or charlotte north carolina (echl)

It'd be awesome. Add that in, fixing the legnth of contract (Just not the value), and the more open Custom Teams (More than 1 Goal Horn/Arena), and there would never be a reason for me to buy another NHL game ever.
If true, I'll be happy never having to draft another "Taylor Sutter" again.

It would be a pretty negligible boost in sales, and definitely a much smaller boost than you'd get from adding the CHL.

Cool, but a feature I probably won't use, or care about in the final product.
