Had an idea!

Probably start by finding out if you actually have any relatives over there. I'd assume they gave you a name of the guy who died?
Could be legit if there was actually a lawyer involved in finding you. Who knows with the scams these days.
Obviously you'd also want to get your own lawyer involved if you're going to take it seriously.

I don't know of any advice to give you other than that there are a lot of scams out there.
Having said that, one of my friends inherited a property in Italy from a relative he never knew, so I guess those things do happen.

This sounds totally legit.
Send them whatever money they ask for, it'll totally be worth it.

I'd also add that I know in a lot of countries, an inheritance has to be willed to you. You simply just don't inherit something based on bloodlines. If there is no will, the government often takes everything if there is no spouse or children.
I don't know about Spain though.

Sounds sketchy at best.
A scam I have been hearing about more and more lately is one where someone either phones or emails you and claims to be someone you know and says they have ran into trouble in a foreign country and need money transferred to them.

Go to Google- Type in "Spain inheritance tsunami". Nigerian prince's aren't the only ones trying to scam our mammas.

Please tell me you aren't going to bother looking any further into this inheritance after reading this link.

Noooooo!!!
Scammers are fun to mess with if you can pull it off right and if they're stupid.

The only scam the scammer that compares is the one where he gets the nigerian price to carve an AT-AT walker out of wood.

I followed up on one of these so-called scams and now have a very lucrative partnership with a Nigerian royal. I say you take a chance!
