Nashville and Columbus deal 'tenders

The Predators acquired Vesa Toskala from Columbus today in exchange for Mike Smith. Along with Toskala the Predators receive Rob Scuderi. Along with the two players Nashville receives enough cash to even things out for this year and a little bit for next year.

I liked Mike Smith but he has not had a good year at all. Toskala has looked a lot better with the Flames in front of him, and he is still only 32 years old...far from over the hill. In Scuderi we pick up a defenceman who can only help our pathetic blue line!

both will be backups next year. decent deal around with preds probably getting the better rated tender for next year and decent defenseman.
