Wendi Richter to be inducted into Hall of Fame

For anyone who grew up in the early 1980's during the Rock 'N' Wrestling Era with the WWF and MTV you'd be familiar with her.

She partnered with Cyndi Lauper to win the WWF's Women's Title at the first Wrestlemania.



Her character appeared in the cheesy 80's Hulk Hogan cartoon.



She was "screwed" out of her title in a very similar fashion to Bret Hart's infamous Montreal Screwjob.

I so wanted to plow Cyndi Lauper in her day.

Wendi Richter wasn't great shakes in her day, but until woman wrestlers like Sherri Martel and later Trish Stratus came along they fought pretty simple hair pulling matches.

But its important to note that until Richter came along the fabulous Moolah had held the woman's title for 28 years.

I cant believe people take Wrestling Hall of Fames as something important or hard to get into. Isnt Koko B. Ware in there supposed Hall of Fame? That was one of the dumbest characters in history, next to the genius or the Red Rooster.

Thats a given considering that McMahon is releasing a Hart Family DVD in April that will have all kinds of Stampede Wrestling tidbits in it and he's already interviewed most of the Hart family.

I do like the fact that Wendi Richter is being inducted by Roddy Piper, maybe he'll smack her in the head with a coconut.

I'm sure it means a bit to the wrestlers that have been inducted, but I believe its more of an honor to be inducted into the actual Pro Wrestling Hall of fame.
