Default Online Stock Trading

Does anyone have any suggestions? I used E-Trade briefly years ago, but nothing since then. I am in Canada and basically want to buy 100 shares of a specific company. Is online the way to go for this, or should I used my bank?

It depends how much you are buying/selling. TD Waterhouse gives me $7 trades, so its not worth it for me to use another broker....

http://www.questrade.com/campaigns/no_bull.aspx - not a bad deal, but again it will depend on volume and how often you trade.

Based on what you are describing above you may want to check out : http://www.investments.shareowner.co.../v1/index.html

Otherwise Scotia I-Trade (used to be E-Trade Canada) or Questrade will offer you everything you need.

Is Waterhouse TD's main trading platform?

I've been with Questrade.com for their $5 trades but their platform sucks hard.

Up to this point I was under the impression that all the big 5 banks all charged $30 bucks per trade. I would be willing to switch in a second if any of them are around the $10/trade mark.

TD also has TD Active but I prefer their main trading platform.

No complaints here.

Thanks for all the info, I will look into Quest and see how that goes. I just have to make one purchase (a family member wants me to buy exactly 100 shares from one company).
